This tape is dubbed with the Bleep and Bass mix that @titia_dj made at the request of dance music journalist Matt Anniss, the author of the incredible book of the same name. The mix was part of a radio take over at @noodsradio in anticipation of the book's release in 2021.
In Join The Future, Matt Anniss (@sellbydave) traces the roots, origins, development and legacy of the sound that started it all: the first distinctively British form of electronic dance music, bleep techno.
Lucas Hunter, who grew up in Sheffield (UK) and who’s also a big admirer of this particular musical genre, is in charge of the matching artwork.
Tonight TITIA and @djlucalozano will play some music together. Come join, dance, sit, hang, chat, shout or just chill at the bar. Drinks on us!

Silkscreen printing at @dekijm by Lucas Hunter aka Luca Lozano aka Planet Luke.
At first glance, his output can appear crude: it’s a mish-mash of 90s acid house aesthetics, dot matrix printing vibes, janky characters, non-slick typefaces, photocopier accidents and classic graffiti writing. However, as Hunter asserts, “A lot of the stuff I do is imperfect and it looks wrong and it looks unfinished and it looks naïve and it looks innocent, but I also spend a lot of time making it look like that.”
The themes of space travel, outer space and other worlds can be seen in both the music and art Lucas is interested in.

Coming up! November 3!
We are happy to welcome a very special guest: Planet Luke! Planet Luke works as the graphic design outlet of Lucas Hunter, aka @djlucalozano - renowned DJ and producer and driving force behind underground music labels like Klasse Wrecks, Zodiac 44 and graffiti-centric tape label Grafiti Tapes.
Lucas and Titia share similar and obscure interests, both having a parallel love for the same two disciplines; music and (graphic) artwork. Their collaborative work is called 'Join The Future', and it was inspired by the eponymous book by Matt Anniss. The title is taken from an early record on Warp Records by Tuff Little Unit. The purple Lucas and @titia_dj chose for the artwork is a direct reference to those early record sleeves and the pioneering bleep techno sound championed by places in the UK, like Sheffield.

Tjitske Oosterholt is an Amsterdam based artist and designer, who playfully combines analogue and digital techniques, resulting in an array of tactile prints, unique paintings and designed objects. In her work there is always an interplay between being in and out of control – giving herself the space to discover new techniques along the way. She found similarities in the way of working with Megan Leber, a Rotterdam based producer who drags you deep into a dark ocean of ambient soundscapes, profound basslines and airy percussion sequences.
Together they present their collaboration project for Duotoon called: A Space made of Granules.

Chris 🇺🇦 and Albert 🇳🇱 met at Club ∄

Chris 🇺🇦 and Albert 🇳🇱 met at Club ∄ in Kyiv in 2020 and have been in contact ever since.
Their goal happens to be the exact same; to present innovative and artistic projects that speak to multiple senses simultaneously as a gesamtkunstwerk. One where each medium blends into the other, perhaps, like a fluid alternate reality.
Therefore they were happy to be collaborating for the first time and present their project called Spatial Déjà Vu.

With ‘BLOOM/ROT’, LYZZA + Aisha Madu explore two opposing sides of themselves. Switching between two modes of being, sometimes hopeful about the future, often frustrated and overwhelmed by the chaos all around.
BLOOM is growing, sweet and hopeful. ROT is decomposing, destruction and chaos. Those conflicting feelings are like two connected opposites, like Yin/Yang or Winter/Summer. The result: twin avatars accompanied by two irresistible club compositions, one light and euphoric, the other darker and melancholic. BLOOM/ROT invites the viewer to instinctively decide which one you identify most with.

Coming up: LYZZA + Aisha Madu
Aisha Madu is a Dutch illustrator specialising in animation. Of Dutch and Nigerian descent, she lives in Amsterdam and creates stories with the poetry of everyday life that are distinctive for their pure graphic lines, abundant humor and borderline absurdity. The central themes in her work are embarrassment and the awkwardness of social interactions.
We are happy to announce that Aisha will be teaming up with Brazilian producer and vocalist LYZZA [swiiipe 👉] who made two club compositions for their project called BLOOM/ROT. A collaboration organically growing out of a conversation between the two artists. Switching between two modes of being, sometimes hopeful about the future, often frustrated and overwhelmed by the chaos all around.
They will showcase their work on November 25th at Lynk & Co Amsterdam Club. Stay tuned!

Sjoerd Martens aka @kaasverhuur (re)constructs environments in his work using source material from different places; taken pictures from his phone.
His work contains a lot of interesting textures; little intricate environments are sculpted together in a big one. The contrast between the ‘natural’ objects and the more ‘plastic’ objects feels utopian and dystopian at the same time.
Sjoerd: “The project ‘Birds Sing Like The Horn Of A Truck’ tests an expedition through various transformations in both analog and digital landscape. It questions the manufacturability of our nature.”
